A Sweetwater man was arrested at Ingleman Park July 27 after people became concerned he might have overdosed.

Sweetwater Police Officer Chris Corona said it was around 7 p.m. when he went to the park and found a man slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, leaning over the center console, with drool coming from his mouth.

Corona said he was able to wake the man and asked him to get out of the car. Corona said the man did get out, but he had trouble balancing and had to hold onto the car.

The man, later identified as Brian Matthew Harmon, had constricted pupils and couldn’t say for sure how long he’d been in the park, though he thought it might’ve been an hour.

Corona asked Harmon if the car could be searched, and he agreed. Corona said officers found five and half blue pills, identified as Alprazolam and one white pill identified as Oxycodone. The pills were in a bottle with a woman’s name on it.

Corona said the park was full of kids and given the totality of the circumstances, he placed Harmon under arrest.

Harmon, 35, South Main Street, Sweetwater, was charged with public intoxication, simple possession of Alprazolam and simple possession of Oxycodone.
